House with Heart provides a safe, permanent home for Nepali girls threatened by poverty, abandonment, and exploitation.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in South Asia, with more than a quarter of its population living below the national poverty line. These conditions fuel a cycle of deprivation: limited access to education and medical care, poor health outcomes, and child labor.
Extreme poverty, recurring natural disasters, and high adult mortality have created a substantial population of orphaned and abandoned children. At the same time, children from destitute communities in remote villages and marginalized groups endure severe adversity, lacking reliable access to food, schooling, and healthcare. Girls are especially at risk, facing child marriage, domestic servitude, and trafficking into the sex trade, making them among the most vulnerable members of Nepali society.
Our Kathmandu residential home offers not only shelter but also the stability of family life, medical care, daily nutritious meals, and nurturing guidance. Each girl attends local school and receives tutoring to help her thrive academically.
Since 2001, House with Heart has been transforming the future of Nepali children left abandoned or trapped in systemic poverty. Beyond safety and care, we provide the tools, confidence, and education children need to grow into independent adults able to lead lives of dignity and self-determination.
