House with Heart is a charity based in Kathmandu, Nepal that provides girls facing poverty, abandonment, and extreme hardship with a safe home and education, empowers women through vocational training and employment, and delivers disaster relief and ongoing humanitarian aid to Nepal’s most vulnerable communities.
What House with Heart Does
Residential Home for Children
House with Heart provides a safe, permanent home for Nepali girls at risk of abandonment or exploitation. In our family residence, they receive shelter, nutritious meals, medical care, and tutoring to help them thrive.
Children’s Education
Across the Kathmandu Valley, children face steep barriers to learning. Our Rise Above tutoring program, Children’s Learning Center, and educational sponsorships keep children in school and give them the tools to succeed.
Women’s Training Center
Our Skillful Hands program offers free sewing and tailoring classes for women with little or no formal education, helping them gain skills for small businesses or jobs. It also employs women to craft handmade felt goods, sold abroad with all proceeds supporting the charitable work of House with Heart.
Community Aid & Disaster Relief
In disaster-prone Nepal, we provide emergency aid after floods, landslides, and earthquakes, along with ongoing outreach. Families receive food, clothing, medical care, and other essential supplies that help them survive crisis and hardship.
